Chemical composition (mass fraction %)
Copper (Cu): Balance, usually accounting for more than 97%.
Berryllium (Be): Most literature ranges from 0.2% to 0.6%
Nickel (Ni): There are two common ranges, one is 1.4% to 2.2%, and the other is 2.2% to 2.8%
Other elements: May contain trace amounts of cobalt (Co, 0.3% to 2.5%), iron (Fe, ≤0.15%), silicon (Si, ≤0.2%), aluminum (Al, ≤0.15%), etc.
Mechanical properties
The properties are significantly affected by the heat treatment state. The main data are as follows:
Tensile strength
After precipitation heat treatment: 690-895 MPa, some tests show 883 MPa (room temperature).
After hard treatment: 760-965 MPa, up to 130 ksi (about 896 MPa).
Yield strength (0.2% offset)
After precipitation heat treatment: 550-690 MPa, measured value 758 MPa (room temperature).
After hard treatment: 650-870 MPa, up to 752 MPa.
Elongation
Generally 10%-25%, the specific value varies with the treatment state, such as 16% in precipitation state.
Hardness
HRB: 92-102, hard state can reach HRB 95-102.
HV: Rockwell hardness HRB ≥ 90°HV.
Physical properties
Density: 8.75-8.83 g/cm³.
Electrical conductivity: 45%-60% IACS
Thermal conductivity: 172-240 W/(m·K).
Elastic modulus: 133-138 GPa.

Production process and product advantages of 17510 copper strip:
1. Production process
Smelting and continuous casting process
Multi-cavity induction furnace smelting is adopted, and the copper strip blank is directly produced in combination with the coupled crystallizer horizontal continuous casting technology. This technology eliminates the traditional hot rolling and milling process, shortens the process flow and reduces energy consumption.
Some enterprises adopt the upper furnace process to produce ingots, with specifications ranging from 15~18×300~450×Lmm and a maximum single weight of 6.5 tons.
Forming process
Continuous extrusion method: Φ20 copper rod is heated and deformed by continuous extrusion, and the blank with the required cross-sectional shape is generated after circulating water cooling.
Rolling process: including milling, rough rolling, intermediate annealing, finishing rolling, finished product annealing and other steps, and finally forms a high-precision copper strip. The surface treatment adopts acid purification and passivation process to improve oxidation resistance and surface quality.
Energy-saving and environmentally friendly technology
Use hot water degreasing instead of acid and alkali washing to reduce pollution; short-process wide-width production process (such as 650mm and above wide-width copper strip) further reduces energy consumption.

High strength and high hardness: The tensile strength is as high as 900-1400 MPa (about 130-140 ksi), and the hardness can reach HRB 100, which is equivalent to tool steel, suitable for high-stress parts such as spring leaves and mold inserts.
High electrical conductivity/thermal conductivity: The electrical conductivity can reach 45-60% of copper (some data mention more than 90% IACS), and the thermal conductivity is 140 BTU/ft·hr·°F, which meets the needs of efficient electric heat transmission.
