Size range

The size range of C62300 copper rods varies depending on the processing method:


Extruded rods:

Extruded rods with a diameter of ≤50mm, tensile strength ≥600MPa;

Extruded rods with a diameter of 51~150mm, tensile strength ≥580MPa;

According to industry standards, the maximum diameter can reach 260mm (QA19-4 bronze).

Drawn rods/forgings:

The diameter range is wider, up to 6~500mm, and the length is 0.5~30 meters (forgings, drawn rods);

Cold-drawn bright rods have a diameter of 1.0~300mm and a length of 6 meters.

Production process and product advantages of C62300 copper rod:


1. Production process

Raw material smelting

Use waste brass, waste copper and zinc ingots as raw materials, smelt through industrial frequency furnace, and add slag remover to optimize the purity of copper liquid. The smelting temperature needs to be precisely controlled to avoid impurities and oxidation.


Continuous casting and hot extrusion

The smelted copper liquid is formed into copper ingots through continuous casting process, and then hot extruded by large-tonnage reverse extruder (such as 38MN grade). This process can improve the density and surface finish of the material. The weight of a single extruded copper ingot can reach nearly 1 ton, which significantly improves the yield rate.


Drawing and annealing treatment

The extruded copper rod needs to be refined by drawing process, and the internal stress is eliminated by annealing furnace (700-750℃) to restore the ductility of the material. The hardness of the copper rod after annealing is reduced, which is convenient for subsequent processing.


Surface treatment

Some products will be chemically polished, electroplated or passivated to enhance corrosion resistance and prevent oxidation discoloration.


2. Product advantages

Excellent mechanical properties

Tensile strength ≥490MPa, yield strength ≥340MPa, elongation ≥16%, hardness HB ≥100, with high impact resistance and wear resistance.

Through reverse extrusion technology, the material density is higher, suitable for high-strength components such as gears and shafts.

Excellent corrosion resistance

Aluminum elements (8.5-10.0%) form a dense oxide film on the surface, which is especially resistant to seawater and chemical media corrosion, and has outstanding stress corrosion resistance.

Good processing adaptability

Supports cold/hot processing (such as cold drawing, hot rolling), forging and casting, with a cutting processability of 20% and good welding performance.

Electrical and thermal conductivity

The electrical conductivity is about 6.58% IACS, and the thermal conductivity is 58.6 W/(m·K), which is suitable for electrical components and heat exchange scenarios.

Wide range of applications

Used for high-demand components such as ship propellers, oil valves, aerospace fasteners, and automotive gears, covering energy, machinery, marine engineering, etc.
