Rod diameter:
Conventional range: According to ASTM and ASME standards, C61900 copper rod diameter covers 6-500mm, of which the common spot specifications are 30-300mm.
Special process: Drawing and annealing processes can produce thin rods of 3-80mm, and hot extrusion processes can reach 90mm.
International standard range: EN 13601 standard stipulates that the diameter of round rods is 2-80mm.
Rod length:
Standard length is 0.5-30 meters, and some customized lengths can reach 5000mm.

ASTM standard:
ASTM B150/B150M: covers the chemical composition, mechanical properties and dimensional tolerances of C61900 aluminum bronze rods, requiring iron content ≤ nickel content, chromium ≤ 0.05%, etc.
ASME standard:
ASME SB-150/SB-150M: Equivalent to ASTM B150, specifies the manufacturing process and test methods for C61900 bars.
JIS standard:
JIS H 3250 C6191 BD: specifies tensile strength ≥685 MPa, elongation ≥15%, Brinell hardness ≥170 HB, and the aluminum content in the chemical composition must be strictly controlled within the range.
EN standard:
EN 13601:2013: For electrical purposes, specifies the dimensional tolerances and mechanical properties of bars, such as round bars with a diameter of 2-80 mm.
Chemical composition:
Copper (Cu): 83.6% to 88.5%, the main component of the alloy, provides good electrical and thermal conductivity.
Aluminum (Al): 8.5% to 10.0%, enhances the strength and corrosion resistance of the material.
Silver (Ag): 0.02% to 0.08%, further improves electrical conductivity and corrosion resistance.
Iron (Fe): 3.0% to 4.5%, improves the strength and hardness of the alloy.
Tin (Sn): ≤0.6%, improves wear resistance and processing performance.
Zinc (Zn): ≤0.8%, enhances toughness.
Lead (Pb): ≤0.02%, exists as an impurity and does not affect performance.
Mechanical properties:
Tensile strength: ≥585 MPa, indicating that it has high strength and is suitable for high stress environments.
Yield strength: ≥275 MPa, ensuring that the material is not prone to plastic deformation during use.
Elongation: ≥20%, indicating that the material has a certain ductility.
Fatigue strength: ≥180 MPa, suitable for high-frequency vibration or repeated load environments.
Hardness: Brinell hardness (HB) is about 170, indicating that it has high wear resistance and impact resistance.
Physical properties:
Density: about 8.79 g/cm³, close to the density of copper, but slightly lighter due to the addition of aluminum.
Thermal conductivity: about 56.5 W/m·K, with good thermal conductivity.
Melting point: lower than pure copper.
Processing performance:

1. Production process
Raw material preparation
The production of C61900 copper rod usually uses waste brass, waste copper and zinc ingots as raw materials. Radiation inspection is used to ensure the safety of the materials, and manual sorting is performed to remove impurities to ensure the purity of the copper powder.
Smelting process
The copper powder is weighed and put into the smelting furnace, and electrolytic copper, zinc blocks and slag removers are added for smelting. Smoke and dust will be generated during the smelting process, which needs to be reused after wet screening and precipitation treatment. After smelting, the copper liquid is heat-insulated and cooled to a suitable temperature to facilitate subsequent processing.
Continuous casting and heat treatment
The smelted copper liquid enters the continuous casting link and forms a continuous casting rod after cooling. Subsequently, the continuous casting rod is hot extruded and skinned to form copper rods of different specifications. These copper rods are then annealed to reduce hardness, improve plasticity and toughness, and finally become finished copper rods.
Surface treatment
In order to improve the wear resistance and surface hardness of C61900 copper rod, a plating and infiltration composite process can be used. For example, a titanium film is plated by non-equilibrium field closed magnetron sputtering, and then a plating and infiltration modified layer is prepared by plasma carburizing technology, which significantly improves the surface hardness and wear resistance.
Other processing steps
Copper rod production also includes stamping, lathe processing, grinding, cleaning, drying and other steps to ensure the quality and performance of the finished product.
